What Are Protected People?
Protected people are individuals whose photos must not be shared online or sold. These could include students with legal restrictions or special privacy needs. SnapshotHub allows schools and photographers to create profiles for these individuals, so any images of them can be automatically detected and deleted from event galleries.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Access the Protected People Section
- Log in to your SnapshotHub dashboard.
- Click “Protected People” from the left-hand menu.
- Here you’ll see a list of all protected profiles and their reference images.
2. Add a New Protected Profile
- Click “Add New”.
- Upload a clear photo showing the individual’s face.
- Save the profile — this will help the system recognise and scan for this person in future uploads.
3. Use Facial Recognition to Remove Their Images
- Go to your Event Galleries and click Manage Event for the relevant gallery.
- At the top of the event page, click the red button: “Delete Protected Images” and confirm your action. The system will scan all images and automatically remove any photos that contain protected individuals.
Pro Tip
Always run the “Delete Protected Images” action immediately after uploading new photos, and before pushing any albums live. This ensures no protected person’s photo is ever published by mistake.
